Setting up Administrative Activities in Training Manager

Trainers are identified in their user profile on the General tab. The target training and Competence Default Windows are easily adjustable. Also, the Audit Log is enabled from the screen. Trainees need to be listed in the Personnel Pool in order for them to be selectable for assignment to training activities in Training Manager. Temporary workers, suppliers, contractors, virtually anyone can be listed in your Personnel Pool without issue. In Desktop as an Administrative user, go to the Administration tab in Desktop. Access an individual user profile, note that the way that you indicate a Trainer is to put a check mark in the box marked ‘Trainer’. It’s as simple as that.

In the Training box under System Preferences, the Default Target Date window is the default period from the time that the training was assigned to a Trainee to the date that is must be completed. If you wish your Default Target Date to be more or less than 14 days, then set the default to be whatever you wish. The same goes for the Default Competence Date Window.

All Trainees must be listed in the Personnel Pool. The Personnel Pool is listed under the Administration menu in the Pools, System Pools section, and listed as POWERWAY Pool – Personnel. To edit the pool, just double-click on the pool name and it will open. Or, you can highlight the pool name and select Edit down below. The Edit Pool dialogue will open. Virtually anybody can be listed in the Personnel pool; they don’t have to be an employee of the company. Anybody that requires any type of training from your facility should be listed as Personnel. Any Trainee that is going to have training assigned to them needs to be listed in the Personnel pool. Individuals can be added to the Personnel pool very easily. Select New on the right side of the window, and fill in the three tabs – General, Contact, and Internet - that appear with the information necessary. Many of our customers only fill out the General tab, as the contact tab is not used as often. The Internet tab is used for sending out email notifications. So, if you wish this individual to receive notifications that they have a document that requires training, and you wish for them to receive that document through the system, then you will need to input an email address on their Internet tab.
